Hey Wedlock Gisters,
We have discussed the power of giving and receiving compliments in a previous post and what it can do for people’s self-esteems in relationships. Most people intuitively know that compliments are good for the soul but rarely give or receive them. People either secretly or sometimes openly yearn for a compliment because there is something that positively shifts when it is received especially from someone whose opinion one values.
Abraham Lincoln wisely noted that “Everyone likes a compliment” and Mark Twain says “I can live for two months on a good compliment”!
Soul Pancake conducted an experiment with a few couples to prove the theory that a compliment can positively impact a person’s self- esteem.
We believe that if you genuinely love someone, complimenting them comes easily and flows naturally. One of our favorite love quotes is by Karl A. Menninger that says “Love cures people – both the ones who give it and the ones who receive it”.
What is the best compliment you have ever received? How easily do you accept compliments from your spouse or others?
Watch how these couples perform in the experiment, “The Power of Compliment |The Science of Love” by Soul Pancake!
